Trump Just Banned One of the Biggest AI Companies in America and the Reason Will Shock You
The White House ordered every federal agency to immediately stop using Anthropic's AI after the company refused to let the military use it without safety limits.
In a move that sent shockwaves through Silicon Valley, President Trump announced Friday that all federal agencies must "IMMEDIATELY CEASE" using AI technology from Anthropic, the company behind the popular Claude AI system.
So what happened? The Pentagon wanted full, unrestricted access to Claude for military operations. Anthropic said no. Specifically, the company drew a hard line against letting its AI be used for mass surveillance or weapons that can kill people without a human pressing the button.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei tried to strike a diplomatic tone, saying his company has "never raised objections to particular military operations." But he added that "in a narrow set of cases, we believe AI can undermine, rather than defend, democratic values."
Trump wasn't having it. "WE will decide the fate of our Country, NOT some out-of-control, Radical Left AI company," he fired back on Truth Social.
This story blew up on YouTube with multiple videos racking up tens of thousands of views in hours, including coverage from FOX with over 33,000 views. It's the first time a sitting president has publicly blacklisted an entire AI company over ethical disagreements.
