Google Just Supercharged Docs, Sheets, and Slides With AI That Can Actually Think
Gemini is getting a massive upgrade inside Google Workspace, and it might finally make AI useful for everyday office work.
Google just announced a wave of new AI features coming to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive, and these aren't just minor tweaks. They're powered by Gemini, Google's most advanced AI model, and they could genuinely change how you work.
Here's what's new. In Google Docs, Gemini can now help you write, edit, and restructure entire documents. Not just fixing typos, but actually understanding what you're trying to say and helping you say it better. Need to turn a rambling email into a clean report? Done.
Google Sheets is getting what might be the most useful upgrade. Gemini can now analyze your spreadsheet data and create charts, summaries, and insights automatically. You don't need to know formulas or pivot tables anymore. Just ask it a question in plain English like "what were my top-selling products last quarter?" and it figures it out.
Slides gets AI-generated presentations. Give it a topic and some bullet points, and it builds a complete slide deck with layouts, images, and formatting.
The features are rolling out first to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in English, with broader availability coming later. If you're a business user, Google Workspace is getting these updates too.
This is Google's biggest push yet to make AI a daily tool, not just a novelty you play with once and forget about.
