Anthropic's Claude Can Now Literally Take Over Your Computer and Do Your Work For You
Claude AI can now click, scroll, and navigate your Mac to complete tasks while you grab coffee.
Anthropic just turned their AI assistant Claude into something way more powerful: a digital employee that can take over your actual computer screen. We're talking clicking buttons, scrolling through web pages, opening apps, and completing tasks while you sit back and watch.
The feature is called "computer use" and it's available right now for Claude Pro and Max subscribers on Mac. You can literally tell Claude to do something, and it will navigate your computer like a person would. Need to update a spreadsheet? Fill out a form? Research something across five different websites? Claude can handle it.
It works hand-in-hand with another new feature called Dispatch, which lets you assign tasks to Claude from your phone. So you could be standing in line at the grocery store, text Claude a task, and it'll start working on it on your computer at home.
Anthropic says they've built in safeguards so Claude always asks permission before accessing new apps, but still, the idea of an AI controlling your mouse and keyboard feels like we just crossed a major line.
This is what the industry calls "agentic AI," and it's the hottest trend in tech right now. Instead of AI that just talks to you, this is AI that actually does things. Every major company is racing to build it, and Anthropic just took a big leap ahead.
